Note: The following test results are from overseas testing. Different methods of testing are carried out in Australia
where fire rating focuses more on heat transference rather than product durability.
■FIRE
With the use of Smartboards, the wall construction is thinner with limitless height and length.
Construction is quick and easy with maximum durability.
The net weight of the wall can be lighter than most constructions.
For fire-resistant duration of 3.5 hours:
the standard wall weight is 27.5 kg/square meter;
For fire-resistant duration of 5 hours:
the standard wall weight is 43.5 kg/square meter

Steel Structure Fire Protection
The shortest construction period
Construction is quick and easy with maximum durability.
Wall surface can be finished or left unfinished.
Fire-resistant Performance of Smartboard Protection Column:
Smartboards, when used as a steel column fire protection system - surface finishes or connection to other walls does not affect its fire resistance.
Smartboards does not require maintenance to retain its fire resistance characteristics. Most other steel column fire protection systems are derived from surface applied chemicals which require continued maintenance.

■WATER
Moisture present at a construction site can cause future problems. Smartboards are moisture resistant. This is not only an advantage to the prevention of Mold and Mildew but
highly advantageous when using the board in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and outdoors.

■MOLD AND MILDEW
Most building materials support the growth of mold and mildew. Smartboards have undergone ASTM G21/G22 testing and show no mold/mildew growth. Mold will grow on most organic substances and most building materials have or are made of organic materials. Smartboards contain NO organic materials.
